A Sure Bet

A national gaming corporation signed up for EWA’s Total License Management service, a good corporate strategy these days given the FCC Enforcement Bureau’s recent heightened proclivity to levy sizeable forfeitures against larger, well-financed organizations who have permitted license management responsibilities to lapse.

As its first step for all new license management customers, EWA conducted an exhaustive search of the organization’s national radio systems, which revealed that resort operations were licensed under a variety of names. One hundred and twenty known licenses were identified, and, not surprisingly, another seventeen previously unknown authorizations were unearthed. Other revelations included FCC-terminated licenses and authorizations that were assigned to other entities.

It took a while, but with the corporation’s assistance and confirmation, EWA was able to place these spectrum assets—crucial to resort operations across the country—in administrative order, fully representative of actual operational activities and in compliance with FCC requirements.  In the future, this Total License Management account will receive timely notifications of license filing requirements and will have the assurance that these capital assets are being properly managed.
