To obtain a renewal, licensees may file a renewal application as many as 90 days before the license expiration date. You should file no later than the date of expiration.
What will I need to renew my license?
To have EWA renew your license for you, you need only provide your FCC Registration Number (FRN) and the call sign of the license you wish to renew. If you plan to renew your license via the FCC’s Universal Licensing System, you will need your FRN password as well.
What will it cost me?
The cost of renewal will depend on the type of license and can range from $165 to $415. The FCC charges different fees, depending on license type. Call an EWA Spectrum Advisor at 800-482-8282 to learn the fee for your license.
What if I’m late? Is my license expired?
If the deadline passes, your license is expired. When your license expires, you must cease operations. If fewer than 30 days have passed, you may file a late-filed renewal with a waiver. Late-filed renewals with waivers are assessed additional fees.
Can EWA help me remember when to renew my license?
EWA offers license management services in three levels—from basic to premium. Select the service that’s right for your business:

- Detailed License Analysis—A one-time report that reviews your license portfolio, checking to see that all licenses are in compliance with any recent, critical changes in FCC rules and are up to date. The report will let you know whether any aspect of your portfolio requires immediate attention and the status of all of your licenses.
- Total License Management—With this ongoing service, EWA performs a detailed search of your licenses, and creates and manages a database of your company’s license portfolio. EWA takes charge and lets you know when action is needed, including alerting you to upcoming renewals and construction notifications, and if authorized, will handle all the application work for you.
